On day One, the train starts its travel from Delhi Railway Station. Delhi is a puzzling land with both history and modernity encapsulated inside the chaotic rhythms of local lifestyle. The monuments of the land provide the best photogenic sights for your eyes and the street vendors do wonder to your stomach. The frenetic road-side markets are the best place to fill up your luggage with souvenirs. Do you know that Delhi has been the pinnacle of strength and pride for several dynasties? Delhi has been constructed over and over by several rulers who took hold of it and that is why, Delhi has several faces to entertain the tourists. However, the itinerary of the Palace on Wheels does not include excursion inside this historic city.

Palace on Wheels - Start the Journey from Delhi

This does not mean that Palace on Wheels does not introduce Delhi to the tourists. The tourists are provided traditional welcome ceremony with garlands, music and others. The attenders would assist the tourists to find their cabins. Once they are settled in their cabin, they are served with welcome drink to relax and get started with the trip. Palace on Wheels gives a glimpse of the hospitality of the land in Delhi.

Climate

Delhi generally has a hot and humid climate. The summer season starts in the mid of March and ends by mid of June. The hottest month is May and fortunately, Palace on Wheels does not operate during this month. The beginning of monsoon is highly humid. From June to late November, the city is always wet and mildly pleasing. From November, the winter starts and ends by beginning of February. Delhi is infamous for its high pollution level. Thus, always cover your skin with a thin clothing or any cream.
