Palace On Wheels is a Luxury train that was originally designed to be the personal railway coaches of the then rulers of the princely states of the Rajputana, the Nizams of Hyderabad, and the viceroy of British India, now takes you on a lifetime experience – nature’s marvel, the nation’s rich cultural heritage coupled with the historical delights of Rajasthan without compromise in providing the boarders with the modern day amenities.
Launched in 1982, refurbished in 2009 with princely interiors, itinerary and cuisine, the rolling royalty takes you on a 7-night and 8-day tour to the exotic itinerary –New Delhi, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Agra and back to Delhi.
Pioneering the Luxury Train Palace on Wheels runs weekly tours to Rajasthan, during the peak time and the lean time of the year. The peak time runs from October to March, the the lean time is during September and April. Each Wednesday, during this time the train runs on a scheduled departure from New Delhi.
The guests are taken for sightseeing to many different locations including the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Monuments buildings.

You can start your sightseeing with the World Heritage Site, the Quran Minar. Named after t he Sufi Saint Qutubbudin Bhaktiyar kaki, whom by Aibak revered, the Minaret was built around 1192 with only a single storey.
It is a 73-metre tall tower with a base of 47 ft in diameter tapering towards the top with a peak diameter of 9ft. Based on Iranian architecture, the Minaret has been built after the Jam Minaret of Afghanistan, with different inscriptions in Parso-Arabic and Devnagri.
Declared as a World Heritage Site, Maqbaera-Humayun is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. Bega Begum, the chief consort and first wife of Humayun had hired Mirak Mirja Giyaj for designing the tomb.

Built in the shape of a Lotus flower, this temple is the last of the seven Bahá’í temples built around the world. Set in the lush green landscape and built with white marble, the architecture chose the Lotus as the common symbol of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Islam.

Being a major tourist attraction, the monument attracts many shopkeepers, vendors and photographers. It consists of a large arch of 42 metres in height bulit in yellow basalt and indissoluble concrete and is located on the Rajpath.
You can end your tour by driving past the President's House and the Parliament House.
